What is CBT?

A CBCT scan, also known as Cone Beam CT scan is a procedure that combines x-ray images to create 3D cross-sectional views of the scanned area. This allows doctors to see structures such as bone, soft tissues, and nerve canal at many different angles for better diagnosis and treatment plans.

How will I benefit from CT-guided implant placement?

At Clovedent Family Dentistry we always use the CT-guided implant placement procedure because it provides several benefits to the patient. These include:
  • minimally invasive surgical techniques
  • reduced treatment and recovery time
  • minimized complications
  • more successful placement and enhanced end results
CT scans can be especially helpful to dentists in planning procedures like dental implants, as they provide views of bone structure, bone density, tissues and nerves that can’t be seen with traditional dental x-rays. 3D imaging can assist with assessing the quality of the jawbone, determining the best spot to place the implant and the appropriate size and type of implant needed.

Dental implants done via traditional placement techniques are typically time-consuming to complete. With CT scans the entire surgical procedure can be planned out and practiced in advance, reducing the amount of time the patient is in the clinic and improving their overall results.
